Fixed attachment Cobb ots vs pro tune

The chart shows the difference between an off the shelf Cobb Beta map and a pro tune from TSM (Top Speed Motorsports, in Atlanta). This is not a knock on Cobb as the OTS tune served me well as I was piece meal adding mods.

Very Impressed with TSM they have a lot of really hot cars there, a ton of GSR's and a couple of Lambos...they are not fooling around!

Met another board member there BlackBoard who was getting his 12X moded...

I made 360 torgue and 340 hp. bolt ons include Tomie single, Ets high flow cat, K&N typhoon intake and uppere intercooler hard pipe, Cobb 3-port solonoid, Forge recirculation valve...note stock intercooler, stock lower intercooler pipe, stock turbo downpipe and turbo
93 octane 2013 GSR (run file 002 is the ots map)

knock counts some 1's and a stray 2 once in a while...prior to the Pro tune I woud get random 4's or so and sometimes 10 or so when hitting the rev limiter...that was after I installed the 3-port and Cobb warned to get a tune...anyway I thought maybe the random high counts at revlimiter / backfire were false but i guess they were real because I don't get any thing higher than a random 2 now and nothing at rev limit / backfire

I asked if an aftermarket intercooler would help with some more PSI at high rpms and the tuner didn't think so. So I asked about what the next best mod would be and without hesitation he said turbo...

I really like the low rpm kick of the current turbo so I need to research what wouldn't jeopardize that but also have more push at higher rpm's...anyway i can wait till my clutch blows and do it all at once along with some lighter valve springs to extend the rev range

Adding a downpipe will get the turbo to kick in even lower but only by 200 - 300 rpm or so. Not sure if it is even worth the money and time since there are lots of reviews out there saying that an aftermarket downpipe like the AMS Widemouth really only to come into play with an upgraded turbo. But I am no expert, just a forum troll.

Personally I have Cobb Quad CBE, ETS HFC, grimm 3port(not installed) now and in the near future doing Sakura intake, uicp, IC and etune. I dont see a turbo upgrade in my future so no downpipe but who knows, it is an addiction.

I will join evo atlanta just haven’t gotten around yet...would definitely be into some mountain runs with a pack this winter...right now really busy with my bikes.

Yep, TSM did me well, very professional and talented crew and outfit!

We’re lucky to live in an area with a place like this nearby, met a fellow board member with some time off from Iraq duty came up from Savannah getting his 12X modded at Top Speed

They (TSM) actually discouraged little ticky tack mods from where I'm at thus loosing revenue ,,,if they were in it just for the profit no way the advise would have been the same. My gut feel on these guys is they are all about performance and no time for bull****...their shop is full and the waiting list for a tune was about 5 weeks when i first asked. My little beast was like driving miss daisy compared to 98% of what else was in their shop...but sounds like you know that already ....

I’m pretty happy with the power now, next I’ll probably install some swiftR springs and drop it a bit.

Do you have the same name on evoatlatna?

Yea, TSM is pretty serious. They pulled a 800HP GTR off the dyno before tuning mine. I think their computer had an alert pop up that said "Please remove the prius off the dyno!" LOL.

Def get on EvoAtlanta, way more activity in regards to local meets and events. My screen name is the same on there too. And most the guys are really cool.

David Fear-FearDavid(last name really is Fear, I'm not just another cocky evo owner ha ha ha)

Hit me up sometime here or there and we can meet up and roll to a meet
