2012 GSR EF3 5150 tuned

I just wanted to post my results with the EF3 from MAP in case others are looking.

My engine mods are:

ETS upper and lower IC piping
AMS intercooler
ETS intake
Ulitimate Racing dual exhaust
Cut out pipe for test pipe
RC1200 injectors
DW65 Pump I believe
The injectors and pump were part of RRE's E85 package.
RRE 3 port

With the Above mods on E85 I was dynoed at RRE BY Mike on the Dynopack at 397 HP and about 380tq

Added the EF3 and AMS DP yesterday and tuned by 5150 on the mustang dyno which he told me reads about 15% less than RRE dyno. I'm not 100% stuck on HP numbers but just wanted to give you all the info I have.

Jon at 5150 ended up at 416hp and about 365 tq. I'll post the graph when I get it. Graph below. Waiting for the boost graph.

I guess if I was going to try and compare before and after the EF3 I calculate it equivalent to 478 on the RRE.

But more importantly is the thing MOVES now, and with the exhaust cutout open it whistles and whines like crazy. It's almost worth the price on sound alone. Lol

The difference between the solid and dotted lines are the solid lines are with my QTP exhaust cutout open.

I got all the options on the turbo except the anti surge.

Tuner said my fuel pump was holding him back from getting a little more out of it. I'm planning on getting a surge tank soon and will get it retuned then.

solid numbers and good area under the curve - is this a conservative E-85 tune or 93?

It's E85. Not sure how conservative though. It's a fairly low reading mustang I believe but the main thing is the tuner said I ran out of fuel pump.

I also told him my main focus is track days.

Feels good. With the cutout open it just screams turbo. Whistles quite a bit cruising. People keep looking over. Especially people on the left side of me since the cutout it aimed that way and comes out under the drivers seat.

No I'm actually gaining a little.

It's a pretty fun device. Scared the crap out of me a few times. If I get a good backfire it feels like somebody is hitting the bottom of my seat with a hammer. I have Cobra Suzuka seats so not much cushion to begin with but thought I hit something in the road.

If you are into the whole "feel" of the car it's great. I tend to like things like that. The noises, vibrations etc add to the sense of power for me. It's why I also went with the stiffer AMS motor mounts and Torque Solutions billet diff mounts.

The car isn't for the faint of heart. Lol It makes more noises than I can count on both my hands. But I love it.

Turbo applications benefit from removing back pressure, so a cut out would help him spool, make more power, and better throttle response. all pluses. the only con is the noise when its open. some like that though, so no cons really.

Looks like it spools pretty quick for that sized turbo. Very nice.

Love the noise. Although it can get loud when there is a car or wall next to me on the drivers side.

At cruising speed it's actually not loud at all. Turbos do muffle echaust sound slightly. Went by a couple cops I didn't see in time to close it and they never even looked over. At cruising speed the turbo whistle is louder than the exhaust. But it isn't louder than the millions of Harley's around here running with straight pipes.

Problem is I'm use to the noise now do with it closed my UR Exaust sounds stock to me so I tend to drive with the cutout open a lot. Plus I can't hear the turbo whistle with it closed.

Side benifit is it appears to be a mustang repellent. Or maybe I'm
just getting lucky. Before the cut out and turbo whine every other mustang that got next to me (that actually had guys driving and not moms and grandmas) would try to get me to go. This last week I had 3 fly up on me from way back but when they got next to me they kinda backed off and minded their own business. Like I said, maybe I just got lucky, but I'm hoping that the LOUD *** turbo whine repels a few of them.

If that's 15% loss due to the dyno, that's damn near 420 torque...jesus. Bet it pulls like a ****ing freight train.

But how safe is that on the stock motor?

I'm not sure about torque. I just trust what he did based on our discussion.

I have always been curious about that 400 tq number. Does it blow right then? How did that number come about? Wouldn't the tune matter as well and at what point the tq hits?
