500whp with a turbo kit and cams, through an SST. Awesome setup Micheal.

Did you notice the loss in spool up on the street, or does it still feel pretty responsive?

Thanks! I am super happy with the setup so far.

I don't really notice it just because if its below 3500 RPM I am not trying to go fast anyway.

Your setup really came alive with cams. I bet there's almost not drop in boost with how fast the SST is shifting

yeah, boost holds through the shift. It actually spikes 1-2 psi on the shift. I am really happy I went the SST route so far. Especially now that I figured out how to get the 60ft down.

The SST is awesome once you fix it with the Aaron's SST tuning.

I was never the biggest fan of the SST at first, but I'm starting to become more partial to them and wouldn't even mind owning one at some point

At these TQ levels, do you even need to do the clutch upgrades? Was thinking about a build like this for my MR however i would have to have the trans shipped out for someone to work on it...

Absolutely. Torque isn't the only thing that matters. The HP does matter.

For the SST, slip can be induced the torque at the shift points. So the torque in the upper RPM's (which = HP) matters with that trans. They can handle a 380wtq spike down low with the stock turbo, but the stock turbo is also making <300wtq when you go to make the shift in the upper rpm's, so its not as hard on the clutches.

The trans isn't $10k. IIRC is about $6k with a 10 plate clutch from Kozmic.

Should be ~2300 with shipping to get an HP10R clutch but I am guessing he needs the turbo kit and fuel system to support it as well.

Correct on the turbo kit and supporting fuel mods as well, then tuning!!! 4500 for the turbo kit and test pipe, 2500 for the trans upgrade, another 1500 for the fuel mods plus shop cost and tuning..... right around 10K
