EVO X RS Borgwarner EFR 7163 with Direct Port Meth..

Hi All,

Car now making 482whp with 2.0bar boost..

Thought I would share my results. This is a weekend/track car. I run the car @ Sepang Malaysia F1 race track. Video of my latest run putting down a fairly decent time on Yokohama A050 Medium compound semi slick tyres is also below.

This turbo can easily pull over 500whp but we chose to keep timing lower and drop boost up top being a track car.. Starting to worry about the stock sleeves lol.

So many upgrades and mods to list, but here is a few:

- EVO X RS 5 speed (in Singapore)
- HKS stroker to 2.1ltr
- Cosworth MX1 cams/springs
- CBRD 7163 turbo kit with test pipe
- FIC 1,000 cc injectors, surge tank with Bosch 044 external pump
- Trust 4" IC
- CBRD 3.5" intake
- Aquamist HFS-3 with direct port meth injection (50/50 water/meth) 4 x 0.5MM jets
- Tephra V3 open source tuned
- Car is running 98 RON octane fuel (similar to 93 in US).

Dyno results are on a Mainline dyno (heart breaker), stock EVO X put down 226whp.






the difference in first dyno graph lines - Red is using my direct port meth and white line is my setup above without meth on. Dyno in 4th gear. As you can see I picked up a lot of spool and torque down low but this was due to the wastegate rod not tight enough (it's a fine line for adjustment) only turned the nut one turn and picked up huge spool, only other change with meth spraying was higher peak boost..

It hits 30psi by 3,900rpm..This is the single scroll vband EFr turbo with a heavy duty spring in a Turbo smart IWG upgrade (thanks to CBRD).

AFR is now 12.1:1 most of the way through

Car feels MUCH faster than the graph lets on. Video of the car in action @ Sepang track (back when it was only 430whp meth safe tune)

Below is a comparison against my previous setup which was almost identical bolt on mods except on my stock block and a fairly aggressive street tune (no meth back then) with an HKS 7640 Kai turbo (most I have seen from stock turbo stock block is 290whp on this dyno):

Damn! you need more gauges. I think you're missing a few. Just kidding man...Nice build you got going here. Does that button on your steering wheel activate your Methanol?

Lol, the defi gauges came with the car when I bought it second hand and just left them. (Fuel pressure, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, boost).. Don't hurt when it's a track car. I don't really care how the car looks that much.

Red button is attached to a water spray system Which feeds 7 nozzles in the front to keep temps cool, 1 for each oil cooler, 4 for radiator and one for intercooler.

Track temp at Sepang gets to 51 degrees celcius!

things get hot fast out there...

meth kit is Aquamist, it's driven based on IDC..

Forgot to include a comparison showing my setup v my old stock block setup with an HKS 7460 and all the bolts on you can throw at it:



Back then we were worried about killing the stock engine with that much torque..
