Okay guys, I am back in town. Sorry for the delay.

Here is the deal.

I have Autopage 1000, with a module that keeps my smartkey inside the vehicle under the dash.

I basically keep on me the Autopage remote, that enables me to unlock, lock, trunk, remote start, etc. Everything needed.

The catch with my current setup. If i remote start the car, and walk up and unlock the car, and get into the vehicle. If i want to drive away, i have to hit the brake, which turns the car OFF, then I have to turn the car back on after a 10 second delay.

Strange, weird whatever. It was worth it for me to only have 1 key in my pocket.

I have basically gotten used to it where I can remote start the car, and while I am walking up to the car, turn off the remote start while outside, and basically get right inside it.

I dont know the model # of the module that holds the smart key, but autopage in CA, offers this for lexus, and a few other car models.

Hope some of this info helps.. If not sorry, PM me for details.

Thanks.

Overall I honestly cant complain the system isnt that expensive, and works great.

Someone needs to come out with an alarm system that you can use with the fast key without any kind of flim flam switchy stop start procedure... That'd be kewl.

My remote start is the same. Only thing is I can throw the key in the ignition instead, which is an extra step.

I am going to call my installer and see if I can get this. One remote would be soooo nice. This would eliminate the most annoying part which is the remote frequencies conflicting unless you separate them!!!

Has anyone else noticed that if you start the 2008 MR with the fast key present, then get out of the car with the fast key, move the fast key say 5' away, get back in the car, you can drive away? This is very surprising to me.

The info display will say key not present but you can drive away. If you shut down the car you cannot get it to turn the ignition without the fast key.

What worries me about this set up is the car should shut down after the fast key is away from the car for say 30 seconds.

Also is there some way of knowing how many fast keys have been programed for a particular car? Some dirty insiders at the local dealer could program additional fast keys and then distribute them to car thieves.
