This thread is for a camera install on a 08 Lancer which should be the same for the X. At the end of the install he puts the car in reverse which triggers the camera.

If the Lancer GTS is only a manual transmission car, then I understand. If not, I am still not sure if it can be implied that it will work for the X. Please excuse my Lancer model ignorance.

yup, also need a power inverter for your cigarette lighter, which would cost $75 for 2 plugs.

 

The GTS does come in an auto and a manual. The Lancer write up was done on an auto while antics22 installed his on the X (manual). It appears the head unit gets a reverse trigger signal from either type.

Ok now I'm kinda pissed off.. my dealer installed Nav only has the red/white audio hookups and not the yellow vid hook up..

The dealer that I bought it from is 400 mi. away and how the F#@K do I have ANY dealer fix that little problem of not installing it right??

Anyone else upset like I am that has this prob?

 

yeah so how do we get the yellow if it isnt there?

 

I suspect that the connector is back there we just have to find it and hook it up. or at least you can hook up the S video connector i saw that on the back already. mayb the guy who did the Nav install and tell us if the connector is just sitting back there

 

Factory installed nav in mine...no yellow rca plug, only R&W.
