Installing double din HU, speakers not working help!

So i am in the middle of installing a kenwood DDX7019 double din head unit. and the problem i came across was after i hooked everything up and tried to play a cd and through the radio nothing comes out of the speakers and im wondering if i have to bypass the stock rockford fosgate amp or not?

Out of curiosity, did you have the stock nav before you installed the Kenwood HU?

after fiddling around with it i think it has to do with the stock rockford fosgate amp under the driver seat.... anyone know how to take the seat off to get to the amp?

Did you use a harness and if so, which one? If not, why not?

I never got too into the stereo thing, but I've always heard that "premium sound" options from the factory are very non-standard. I even had a guy tell me that he'd have to replace everything (HU, amp, speakers) if I wanted to upgrade any part of my Sun and Sound 06 Ralliart back when I had it. He probably just wanted more money, but like I said, I never really got into the stereo thing.

You may want to take a pic of the wiring and post it. If there is a blue wire in the aftermarket harness, make sure it's connected to the blue and white amp turn-on wire in the stereo harness.

Agree with the power not getting to the stock AMP. call the place you bought the wire harness from and make sure this covered all the stock wiring needs , AMp and speakers. if they have a pin out map. double check your speaker connection and then get a test light on the amp to make sure it is getting power.

let us know what you find.

Just read my Post

There is no adapter for this yet, And i don't think it will come out anytime this year or even next year.
The wiring harness from Metra is only good for Power up the head unit, Dimmer power antanna. The speaker output will not work for the 9 speaker Rockford system.
No Shop can wire up the factory amp, because they just cant. The OEM AMP turn on
is control by the Car's CANbus System. It even say so in the 2008 service manuel.

Right now the only way to wire up a new Head Unit and still use the factory speaker
is by passing the amp like what I did. And to use the OEM Sub you will need to buy
a NEW Amp.

BINGO. I knew i read the deal about the AMP an CANbus somewhere.

OK follow this. cound you not wire the stock radio up in the trunck to come on when you turned your head unit on then the stock amp would still run your signal to the speakers from your head unit. kinda of like a check system if you have a radio in the car. the big qestion is what all communications go on with the stock radio. it could be just a simple on off signal.
