I used the Apple TV connector and plugged the three cables into the socket behind the ash tray. I plugged the USB cable into a cigarette lighter adaptor and it provides power to charge the iphone or the ipod.

It was simple and it works perfectly.
you have the MR...on the GSR there are only 2 sockets for audio and no video out. Also do you control the iphone on the Navi?

I have the MR with Navi... and I have no sockets at all.

But no, you don't control anything coming in off the AUX with the Navi. It's just a line out.

I thought it didn't come on any US models...

Looking at it from a technical perspective you would need to use the video out on the ipod/iphone (the dock connector) and somehow use a connection like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Composit.../dp/B000VRJ30U

My only guess would be to possibly splice the video out from the above cable into the back of the nav unit. I'm not sure if this would work but I don't want to waste the $60 to try it. Even if it does display video through aux, the touch screen MMCS would in no way have the capability of controlling the ipod/iphone. Also I do not think video is supported while driving in auxiliary (I know there is a hack for DVDs though).
