nav functions

how come our evo x doesn't come with the same functions like the fq360 they should on top gear? like how it shows the car performance, g force pushes, etc.
i saw it on youtube and it'd be a pretty cool function for the car.
is there a way we can program that into our evo x's here in the u.s.?

For $76,000 I would hope they get stuff that's not available in the regular evolution x

The Nav may be different. For example, in many European countries, they have TV reception built into the Navigation system. In the US it is illegal to have such functions available.

Could you post a link to the youtube clip? ... I've never seen an evo x FQ that does that. They do show environment and trip information (e.g. altitude and MPG charts - but I guess US cars do too), but not g-force or other performance info.

Are you getting mixed up with the nissan GTR???

No He isn't mistaken, I remember watching it a while back (season 11 I think) and it shows tons. Clarkson still liked our version better for the price

Is this the video from topgear you are talking about?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKkJZO8exw8

this is showing the satnav, trip information and an iPod feed? (around 6:28 into the clip).

I couldn't see anything about performance in there (average speed maybe?). I'm wondering what you guys have seen now !

(only other top gear evo clip I could find was the E8fq400 racing a lambo)

no he isnt.... not entirely at least. THe top gear episode does say that the nav unit will display a graph showing your average speed and fuel consumption over the last 2 hours (watch the top gear episode posted above at 6:26 like mentioned).

However if you get one of the software gauge setups, you should be able to output the desired info onto the display with minimal hassle.

there is this new Magden Linux OBDII & Gauge Performance Software that connects to the OBDII port and logs all of the data from the ECU. the display can then be routed to the nav lcd screen.

And the USA nav/MMCS does this. One of the selections on the Info screen. It's just a little more detailed but has the same info as the multifunction screen between the tach and speedo and in green,. iirc.
