The Sirius doesn't go through the antenna. It goes through the larger antenna base where you screw the antenna in.

You must be hearing things.

has anyone else tried what jam evo said to cut attena and reattach tip? that sounds like a good idea and really want to try that but my fiancee is flipping out about an idea like that from some person just off the internet. she doesn't want me to "ruin" a new $35k car, which would be a $45k car if i bought one in this state. some "friend" gave me advice on my old car several times in the past, turned out to be a giant hastle and even caused some problems. but id really like a shortened antenna and the subwoofer removed from the trunk, but she says no. she did cosign the loan so i do need to listen to her even though she knows absolutely nothing about cars.

Buy a perrin 4" shorty antenna. You will love it, and its cheap.

My car had a shorty antenna. I went with HD radio and had better reception with the stock antenna.
