i wouldn't use a 1101t because they'd be special order, when i could just get labor that same day by using a 556u. on my car i wouldn't use either though, never ever. i purposely bought a car without the fastkey system so i could use the dlpk & rflmit3 system, integrating it into the factory transponder of course. do you even know what you're talking about?? how long have you been installing for?

yeah...I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about You seem to be the one that is not sure. So because you'd have to order the part you put a bypass in the car that can allow it to be stolen very easily Because you put the 556U in, the key is ALWAYS activated which is the same as it being in your pocket. So if this persons car gets broken into, someone can just turn the knob and drive away...that sounds real professional on the install
I do have the FASTKEY system and can just use the PKU-MITSU bypass for the transponder bypass. Everything else can be hard wired straight from the remote start brain.

like adamkean says, thats the worse thing you could do. leave the proximity key in the 556u. Thats just asking to be stolen. Depending on what system you put in the car, it may have starter kill, but you should know as an installer there are ways around that. So me personally as an installer, before they came out with these DLPK or PKALL systems or any others where you dont have to lose a key, I would ask the customer if they wanted me to take off the teeth on the key so if something were to happen no one can break into the car and just take the key out and drive off with it. I did that with my old evo, I wanted no extra chances of someone driving off in my car. Also, if it was a key where you can just remove the immobilizer out of the key and put it in the bypass I would do that instead of the whole darn thing. Granted you may want to make a sale right away, but my main concern is making sure things are done right, and try and cut out any chance for auto theft.

I have already tested that the fast key does not work while the vehicle is started so there is most likely going to be no bypass that allows it to work while vehicle is remote started. Just how there are other cars do the same where all keyless functions on key fab are disabled when vehicles are started (ie: some toyotas/lexus nissans etc) I just like finding out about other bypasses I dont have access to such as the PKU-MITSU is that DEI as well? I was originally going to do the 1101t, but I cant justify losing another key.

Thank you for backing me up on this. The bypass brand is BypassKit. I'm sorry...the exact model is PKU-MIT3 not PKU-MITSU. It's used on all mitsubishi that are 2006+.
I'm with you that the FAST will not work when the vehicle is running so no matter what you use for a bypass you'll still have to wire up the R/S so you can unlock the car when it's running.

Damn, this is complicated...makes me with I hadn't got the SSS. I want remote start bad, but the dealer service dept said they wouldn't even attempt it on my GSR and it's complicated enough for some installer to muck it up and void my electrical warranty at the same time.

Go to a different dealer. I went through a dealer to get mine. I called around to see what different places offered. One was installing Audiovox ... thats not going to work for me so I found the place that installs the remote start + 2way alarm. You pay a little more but you end up with your electrical warranty intact.
