Nope. The antenna connector from the factory is different and you stil need the Pioneer Sirius module.

That's pretty much the case with any LCD.. even daylight viewable ones. I tinted my windows dark, so that helps.

I know that the new Kenwoods have the reverse tilt feature where instead of the screen tilting back, it can tilt forward thereby reducing the glare.

I was simply hoping that they weren't the only Double Din units that had this feature. So none of the Pioneers can do this?

Don’t buy xm.
Why you will pay such a rip-off with all the internet stations playing for free no commercials.
Get an Iphone or iPod. Download for free your favorite’s podcasts. You have music for free all the time.
Or you can install one of those 250 gb Hd and had all the music you want
AVIC f90bt brings the ipot/iphone cable ready; you can see and play it in your screen
If you are good with computers you can figurate out how to run winamp or any multi internet stations for free in your car

Maybe some of us don't want to be gay with an iPhone. I already use a hard drive hooked up USB.

wiretap...thanks for the great writeup! With your detailed instructions I setup the same install on my evo. Thanks!

I had a couple of questions/issues though:

1. If I connect a hard drive (WD Passport) straight to the USB port that is plugged into the f700bt, nothing happens. The f700bt doesnt see it, but the light on my passport shows up. Do I need to to get a USB Y-cable to connect my hard drive to the 2 usb ports in the glovebox mod? I suspect that is the case (ordered the Ycables off of ebay just now).

2. for iPod connectivity. It's weird when I connect my iPhone to the usb port, i see the ipod option light up in the AV Sources. However, when I play the music, I don't hear anything! I'll also post on avic411, but thought some evo owners might be able to help as well.

I'm sure there are workarounds for the above two issues. Any help would be much appreciated. In any case, I'm happy with the setup. The car finally looks like a 30k+ car from the inside (even with the cheap plasticy feeling). I'm onto seeing how I can mod the avic-f

Thanks!

The hard drive has to be less than or equal to 250GB, and it has to be formatted properly AND receive proper power. Follow my guide here:

and here

For iPod, I don't know. I don't use Apple products. You're best off asking on Avic411.

thanks! I was as confused as the guy on the avic forums. Wasn't sure whether the inverter box was connected the HU at all. Now I know it isn't and that I need a Y-cable to connect the usb wire from the box to the usb wire from the 700bt. Is it really necessary to format via Windows CE?

Thanks!

It isn't necessary to format from within Windows CE, but that's the way I did mine because formatting within Windows XP/Vista/7 did not work for me, even when I had the right settings. It is really picky about formatting when it comes to hard drives for some reason. You can give it a try outside of Windows CE though.. it won't hurt anything.
