WTF? Driver side speakers only work sometimes?
My front drivers side speaker does not work properly either. I turned the volume up to 30 and put the balance all the way to the left and I could barely here the front right speaker. I guess I need to take it in. Too bad all the mitsu dealerships in my area suck.
I took my car in to the dealership so they could fix the sound problem. Thier solution was to order and install new speakers even though I told them the speakers work when the FM radio is on but not when BT or CD is on. They installed the speakers and guess what...The sound would not come out of the left speakers with the CD/BT on.
The thing that pisses me off is the tech didnt even check to see if it worked. They told me everything was fine, so I got in the car and it didnt work.
The dealership wants me to come in again so the tech can diagnose the problem again.

I ended up going into skyline mitsubishi here in Thornton Colorado for this and also recalls and seats staple issue. They took care of everything but only with some drama over the phone.
For the stereo, they said they didnt find any issues!!! As soon as I leave, of course it got even worse, now it wasn't acknowledging the cd was in. Heard there was another dealer in town (mile high mitsu) and they took care of me, checked it out in two minutes, ordered a new head unit and now all is good.

sound like a bad head unit, connector feeding the signal from the cd player inside the unit not working correctly is my guess, since it has problems from one setting to another it would be inside the head unit. just get a better aftermarket one and you sound be good
Well nice to know I am not the only one, but I still dont understand what the problem could be.... I dont have the $$$ Right now to get the head unit I want. I also am not to keen on taking the car to the dealer for this since I dont really see mechanics being the best peeps to look at radio issues....LOL.....

I complained to them about the rear shelf behind the back seat rattling because of the subwoofer and they said "sorry, there's nothing we can do about that". I got Mitsubishi involved, and they are now communicating with the dealership directly, to make sure the problem is solved. I seriously don't understand why they operate the way they do.
I just took my Lancer into the dealership this morning for an L.O.F. and also to check out the CD problem you posted. I noticed this as well. Dealership was great and said they should have the replacement in 3 to 4 days and then will call me and should only take about 45 minutes to install.
I was surprised that the previous owner didn't take it in. I say that because the previous owner at one time had JL Audio in the car. I know this because because there is a 100amp power line coming from the engine area all the way to the rear of the car. They even dynomat'd the trunk area already
Strange they didn't detect this.

Curious as to why there would have been a power line going from the engine bay to the rear. Since the battery is in the rear, and any higher end system would be relying on its own relays and fuses, why would the power be ran to the engine bay? I know its off topic... im just not a big car audio geek and dont quite understand this.
