Can anyone tell me if these are the 2 items I need to hard wire my Escort Passport 8500 x50?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846

http://www.amazon.com/Littelfuse-FHA...ref=pd_sim_e_1

Is the add-a-fuse in the link above the right type for the Evo X? I'm aware there is small and large types.

Do you access the fuse panel through the hatch under the steering wheel or do you have to go into the engine bay?

Any input is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Dead thread, but be careful with hard wiring your R-Detector to the dome light. I did and it drained my 1 month old battery. Even after unplugging the radar. Also it sucks because when you turn the car off the radar goes on some crazy phase where it chirps on and off consistently if you leave it plugged. I'm currently waiting on it because i need to figure out how to run the wire up the a pillar without pulling it off(afraid of the airbar deploying). Good luck

I'm not tapping power through the dome light. However, I've seen other threads showing this is a viable option.

I had another member PM me a very detailed how-to, and I will likely be attempting my own hard wire in the coming week or two. Parts are in the mail. I'm using a blendmount and going through the roof lining, down to the A-pillar, and into the fuse box.

I don't really think you need to worry about pulling your A-pillar off. As long as you don't go tarzan on that **** and start pounding and yanking, you should be fine.

People remove the A-pillar all the time to install gauge pods.

Here's a quick how-to I found on how to remove it:
