Question for those w/Factory Rockford?
there are always options such as sound deadening which will improve your audio quality by simply isolating the sound sources. people are complaining about making the radio louder when the outside noises get louder, so why isn't anyone talking about hearing the outside noises less?
Plus, come on; the 2008 Rockford system simply doesn't get loud. Period. This is not a point of contention, this is simple fact.
I like mine a lot, it's actually good, clarity is not the best but still good. I'm not into booming sound either. I would prefer clarity over bass cause I listen to rock music all the tiime

Hmmm, that's interesting, my car came standard with that extra sound dampening material. I literally can't really hear things outside when my windows are up.
The problem with sound systems is not how truly good they are, by whatever criteria that might be, but what you've had in past cars. I had an Infiniti with Bose studio on wheels. I used to read people on the Infiniti forum knocking it(it's my experience all owners on forums say the stock stereo sounds like crap), but it really sounded quite good. Course, the two 12" W6's in the trunk helped. So for me, the Rockford was just "ok". Bottom line, if you haven't had a good system that makes hearing a song on the Rockford always a bit disappointing then you'll be fine. If you have, then you'll be reading this section of the forum for advice and saving your $$$.
