Mmcs over heating issue

So the last few days I've had my navi over heat when I run the defrost in my Evo. I has never been a problem before but not I can't make it to work without it going into protect mode. Anyone have any ideas

Are you still under warranty?

There's a plastic plenum behind the MMCS that feeds air to the defroster vents, so the heat from that is what's causing your issue. If you're still within the 3/36 bumper to bumper I'd take it to your local dealer and see if they can do something for you. If not, you might consider pulling the MMCS and see if there are any leaks in the plenum, of if you can wrap it in something to keep the heat down.

Ya I'm out of warranty so I'm sol on that part. I took the unit out this morning and the gray single harness wire was lose. I had no problems with it today and had the heat blasting in the car I will call the dealer tomorrow to see if the have any info and will update this in a few weeks if it's all still working
