How do you remove volume and tune knobs on the factory radio?

Trying to figure out how to remove the factory radio knobs so that I can get to the circuit board. Can any one help with this I tried pulling as hard as I could with what little grip I could get and they don't seem to budge.

remove the dashboard / trim.

the "face plate' of the radio comes off with it , including the knobbs.

you can then get at the board from behind.
