$5000 for car audio/gps, what to get?

After doing some research on the cars I want (mainly the evo and sti), I've determined that getting either with the additional GPS/audio options is a waste and I would be much better off saving my money for an awesome car audio system. Here's a list of what I want:

-GPS
-3.5 mm jack
-Awesome iPod interface
-Bluetooth
-Satellite radio (sirius/xm, doesn't matter now)
-Integration with basic steering wheel controls (volume up/down, next/previous track/station)
-Rear backup cam
-Awesome sound quality
-OEM look (besides the HU)

What I don't want:
-Something "showy" (OMG GUYS CHECK OUT MY TRUNK 5 SUBS LOL)
-Ghetto blaster (needs to be loud enough, but I don't care if it's the loudest system ever)

Also, if anyone can recommend good car audio specialists/installers in Massachusetts it would be greatly appreciated.

I really want the best stuff, and I guess I should've mentioned that the $5k includes installation.

I would start with Wickedcas and take it from there. They have some really nice sub enclosures that fit better than stock. They also have great head units, etc

I kind of agree with 2005evo. $5k on an audio system in an evo seems excessive, given that the car is LOUD already. Money put into high quality audio components likely won't be fully enjoyed given the road noise. If you dynamat the entire car it might be quiter in there, but then you'll have basically added a permanent passenger to your car in weight. How did you arrive at the $5k budget? Just my two cents. At any rate, good luck on your selection process and install!

Guys, if you ever did a FULL audio system in a car including labor, it ADDS UP.. $5k should buy a very nice audio system.

Look into Pioneer's navi systems. They have really nice double DIN's that will suit all of your needs that you listed.

All you need is here! You got everything minus a box and headunit to have a really nice sounding audio system. JL 500/1 Amp is the SH*T! I prefer a W7 (don't know much on the Diamond D6), but that's just me .

Thanks man. Yeah the 500/1 is the real deal for sure! I had never bought a H.U. to finish the system, thats what I was waiting on and just never did.

The Diamond sub is BAD ***! The components are AMAZING!

Sub: http://www.diamondaudio.com/content/view/128/142/

Sub: http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-D6-D61.../dp/B000TSQQ0Q

Components: http://www.ocsdeals.com/p_11753_Diam...dio_S500s.aspx

I'll give someone a killer deal if they take it all at once! Its all quality stuff, well the Bazooka amp isnt the best but it worked for what I used it for before and that was powering a set of 6 x 9's in another vehicle.

My plan was to get a brand new base evo and invest what I saved into the sound system. I know this sounds stupid, but I plan on doing the sound/comfort stuff (yes, dynamatting the whole car too) first, and then focusing on performance. This will be my daily driver, and I want it to sound awesome and be fun to drive.

For $5 g's you could do so much more performance wise. I agree that a decent system is a must in your car, but a $5000 system? People will be talking about how loud your system is and seems to me like adding fuel to the fire for thieves to be eyeing up your evo.

just my $.02
