For the people saying I could get ridiculous performance parts for $5k, I completely agree with you guys. My 09 GTI was stock for a year and a half, and I got bored of driving it so I chipped it and it felt like a whole new car. A stock evo X will be the fastest car I've ever driven to this date, so I'm sure it will feed my need for speed for a couple of years at least.

I want the car to be COMFORTABLE (minimal road noise w/ dynamat, awesome sound) first, and then when the car starts to feel slow, I'll have more than enough saved for all the mods I want to do.

I understand that evos attract a ton of gearheads looking to add power/handling mods right off the bat, but I'm not one of them. Hope my way of thinking makes some sort of sense to you guys.

I see you mention "dynomatting" the whole car. As you probably understand, audio doesn't exist in a vacuum. It's always relative to noise and distortion. In a very loud car like the Evolution, especially a modified one, good sound is quite a challenge. With this in mind, I'd strongly suggest looking into sound deadening in greater detail. I'm not talking about products like the original asphalt-based Dynomat, which is useless, or the better Butyl-based Xtreme which is useful for handling resonance-driven anomalies. Read every page in this site for a better idea of what's involved:

From: College Station, TX
Front end- Morel Elate 6- ~$1700
Subwoofer- Wicked CAS enclosure with IDMax or IDQ- ~800
Amps- Xtant or simlar- ~$1000
Deck- Many to choose from- ~$400-$800
Accessories and installation- rest of money
I would not do any rear fill for proper staging, however, you could replace the rears if you wanted... My 2c.
