pioneer nav mounting question

i have a 2011 gsr and i had a shop install my pioneer z120bt and they used a metra dash kit and i hate it. i will be getting the scosche dash kit and changing myself. my question is the shop didnt us any of the factory radio brackets to mount the pioneer, its being held in place by the dash kit itself. Can i use the 2 brackets from oem radio to mount the pioneer the correct way or do i have to order the factory nav bracket from stealership? ive been researching this and see some people saying you need oem nav bracket and some saying they are using brackets from stock radio. also will i have screws to mount these brackets to pioneer?

thanks

Yes you use the stock brackets. Their are holes drilled in the sides of the Pioneer to match the stock brackets for imports like us. It's called iso-mounting when you do this btw. The Scosche kit should have instructions just in case.

you can use oem bracket, it can be compatible with pioner, if it does not fit you can drill holes in the bracket not in pioner.
nav bracket and the OEM bracket should be identical to the location of the holes.

You need the OEM navi double din mounting bracket to get most double din navi units to work with the scosche dash kit.

Crap.. there's two different part #'s for the same bracket??

Hey JDMCT, do you happen to know which part number you ordered from Mitsu Parts.net??

The 8701A168 part number is what the guy at the counter will understand. When I look at the parts system for the exploded view of the components, I see 91516. I just had to order another one (my car was broken into and my deck stolen), and can confirm you'll want to ask for the 870... number when you talk to the dealer.

Thanks again MTB, really appreciate it!

And sorry I swiped your stereo.. just needed the bracket, lol. But seriously, sorry to hear that man!

I'm still at a toss-up between the DNX9980HD and INA-W910 navi's.. the Kenwood looks laggy as hell, and the Alpine is missing a bunch of features (especially the euro-spec W910's 3D terrain view from the iGo system). At this point I'm about ready to wait until next year's models are announced.. another 6 months from now =/
