I guess it's pretty new then, but make sure you guys don't pay that much. If they know they can get away with it, everyone will HAVE to pay that. Tell them I paid 35 in Canada. Southside Mitsubishi in Edmonton, Alberta if you want to be specific. They are a great dealership.

I called the one in National City. I'm going to call south coast see if they have the fix since I'm gonna be dropping by sometime next week. Hopefully Sam will hook me up with it haha

It's written below "ENT". Software update won't help.

I called south coast and they said they are not sure. Supposedly I had to take it in so they plug it in the system to see if there are any updates. If the updates are coming from Mitsu, then he said it should be covered by warranty, otherwise we have to pay for it.

I'll be dropping by sometime next week and hopefully they have the update.

Got it done today with a local dealer. I have to bring a usb drive there for them to download the files. 1 hour labor is charged ($96). I complained to Mitsubishi and they said they can't do anything as this is not a warranty item.

So you have the file now? I'm sure you could put it on cds and sell them for a couple bucks and make your money back!

yeah do you have the file still? haha

I called couple dealers, 2/4 said 98 bucks and the other 2 said they have no clue what I'm talking about.

Yes I have the files but you also need the instruction on how to do it. I plug the usb back in and without special operations and I don't think it's going to update by itself (my guess). They moved the car into the shop area during the upgrade so I didn't get a chance to see what they did.

It was a seriously convoluded series of button presses, but there must be a Mitsu repair guy somewhere that wouldn't mind putting up the instructions.

I would have come un-hinged if my dealer wanted 100 bucks to do that work. I shouldn't have to pay because they didn't ship the car with updated software.

One day, our nav units will have wi-fi or some sort of cell phone carrier receiver, and it will download it's own updates.
