Anyone know how to update nav firmware?

TSB-11-54-007

Instructions

Prep:
  1. Format the USB to FAT32
  2. Put the update.package file in the root of the USB
Updating:
  1. Turn the car to ON (don't really need to start it up)
  2. DO NOT PRESS BRAKES
  3. Wait for everything to be loaded on Nav.
  4. Plug the USB in with the update.package file in the USB drive
  5. Press and hold set + navi at the same time for about 3-4 seconds
  6. Go to Hands Free Module
  7. Press S/W Update
I forgot when, but at some point it will ask you for a password/code, just input 1234 (in that order).

Once the update is done, it will reboot and it'll say update successful and you should have version 9.0.0. Then simply press back until you get back exit that especial menu.

Instructions for non-nav system WITH USB port:
  1. DO NOT PRESS BRAKES
  2. Turn audio system "OFF"
  3. Press the following in order: CH1 preset Button, |<< (seek down) button, >>| (seek up) button, and then CH4 preset button.
  4. "HFM DIAG" should be displayed on the system, if not repeat previous steps.
  5. turn the volume to 0
  6. press the "CH4" preset again to toggle through the diagnostic functions
  7. then look for any PN lower than 8785A035 or S/W lower than 0900000
  8. Once you see "HFM OK" displayed, press CH3 preset button to toggle back until "HFM DIAG"
  9. Once you see "HFM DIAG" again press "PAGE" button to enter update mode.
  10. To enter the update security code, press CH1, CH2, Ch3, Ch4 in that order
  11. and the update should start updating.
  12. once that's done press "PAGE" button to return to "HFM DIAG"
  13. turn off the ignition and remove the USB flash drive
  14. test to see if it worked.

If all of this didn't work, let me know.

PS: You don't need this update if you don't have a USB port. This update is only for compatibility with iOS 4.0 or higher through the USB port!

It can be done two ways that I have been told. Either with a disc or at the dealership with a laptop thru the small plug port at the base of the screen when it's open

Easiest way to update it is to take it to your dealer and they will update it for you. They just plug in an CD and do it in about 10 minutes. Assuming there is an update for it.

I'm not paying 50-100 dollars for that update :P

Anyways, if anyone wants to know how to update it, let me know. It's a little tricky but I got it and I'm about to go test it.

I'll update if it works

Can a mod change the tile to "Instructions on Updating your Mitsubishi FUSE System" and possibly make it a sticky? I added the instructions on how to update it for those with the USB port.

This update is not for the maps. It's only for supporting the iOS 4.0 or higher. If you want map updates, you'll probably have to go through the dealer.

Today I went to the dealer to have em check my break pads and while I was there I asked on how to get a maps update for the navi... They told me to call mitsu, so I did... Guess what mitsu said? Go to your local mitsu dealer... Why did Nasa have to finish their missions... I just wanna hitch a hike and live on another planet...

Hey that USB port, is it used for anything else (such as music players or smart phones that have USB adapters)?
