Instructions
Prep:
Once the update is done, it will reboot and it'll say update successful and you should have version 9.0.0. Then simply press back until you get back exit that especial menu.
Instructions for non-nav system WITH USB port:
If all of this didn't work, let me know.
PS: You don't need this update if you don't have a USB port. This update is only for compatibility with iOS 4.0 or higher through the USB port!
File: Download
Instructions
Prep:
- Format the USB to FAT32
- Put the update.package file in the root of the USB
- Turn the car to ON (don't really need to start it up)
- DO NOT PRESS BRAKES
- Wait for everything to be loaded on Nav.
- Plug the USB in with the update.package file in the USB drive
- Press and hold set + navi at the same time for about 3-4 seconds
- Go to Hands Free Module
- Press S/W Update
Once the update is done, it will reboot and it'll say update successful and you should have version 9.0.0. Then simply press back until you get back exit that especial menu.
Instructions for non-nav system WITH USB port:
- DO NOT PRESS BRAKES
- Turn audio system "OFF"
- Press the following in order: CH1 preset Button, |<< (seek down) button, >>| (seek up) button, and then CH4 preset button.
- "HFM DIAG" should be displayed on the system, if not repeat previous steps.
- turn the volume to 0
- press the "CH4" preset again to toggle through the diagnostic functions
- then look for any PN lower than 8785A035 or S/W lower than 0900000
- Once you see "HFM OK" displayed, press CH3 preset button to toggle back until "HFM DIAG"
- Once you see "HFM DIAG" again press "PAGE" button to enter update mode.
- To enter the update security code, press CH1, CH2, Ch3, Ch4 in that order
- and the update should start updating.
- once that's done press "PAGE" button to return to "HFM DIAG"
- turn off the ignition and remove the USB flash drive
- test to see if it worked.
If all of this didn't work, let me know.

I just emailed the 2 addresses you provided about the issue too. I have a Note 4 that doesn't work and my gf's iphone doesn't work. It's annoying to spend "x" amount of dollars for the MMCS and not have any support.
