Radar Detector

The new generation is the 9500IX which has a built in GPS that cancels out False alerts + gives you red light camera info + known speed traps ( as long as you get their subscription)
the 9500ix is based out of the 8500 with some tweaks making it a tad bit better.. the most sensitive radar they got is the redline. But it has no GPS.
If I was you get the 8500x50 and pair it up with the new passport live cord.
Personally I run the 9500ix + live cord which is overkill.
I've gone from a yellow SRT-4 to a Mazdaspeed 3 to a Evo so far 0 tickets since 2003..

Valentine V1, and wouldn't change it for anything. Beyond the wonderful radar capabilities, the V1 is well thought out. If you had the first model they made, the firmware could be updated to the same capabilities of the new ones offered today.
Using a telephone cable as the main connection cable when not hardwired is great too... no proprietary cables and easy to replace.

i have a beltronics sti magnum. this model is undetectable by radar detector detectors. i drive in canada and the dc area sometimes and like the fact that i can use it as long as it is out of sight. i usually dash mount it then so it has looks like it is part of the dash.

the v1 has a few issues with like different phones and a few other things but they adapt to that and update firmware. as far as age goes they still have brand new models they just look identical to the original. this is also the reason at anytime they can upgrade your detector to the newest technology without having to charge you for a brand new detector.

v1 here. i always leave the volume turned down because the blinking arrows and lights are enough to get my attention. My buddy has the 9500 and I hate it. It goes off all the time, gets really annoying in the city, especially when it falsely calls out red light cameras.

Does it trigger the false positives on radar too? or just incorrect red light locations?
Cause I can just make it auto learn based on GPS location and hitting mute if it does it to me. I take the same way to work in the suburbs every day. Probably wouldn't use it in DC city.
