Factory radio not working.

Awhile ago I upgraded the radio to an aftermarket head unit. When I took out the original, I noticed a ribbon cable had "torn" off the hazards switch. Put in the new radio and everything was fine. Now when I put the factory radio back on, none of the buttons on the radio panel work and the display screen doesn't even show anything.. I'm assuming it has something to do with the ribbon cable. Has anyone run into this before?

You need to reconnect that ribbon cable. It is what gives power and control to the dash kit that you place on top of the cd changer.

You should notice a small slot to stick that ribbon in on the faceplate that you say doesn't power up roughly where the ribbon location is straight up.

You will have to look behind the faceplate and work the ribbon in with the hazard switch relatively close since the ribbon is pretty short.

Just keep looking at that dashkit piece, there's a small slot made just for that ribbon plug that you have to jam in. Can be a little tricky since the ribbon likes to bend.
