Small, Lightweight Battery
Small, Lightweight Battery
I am in need of a new battery for my 2008 GSR. I would like to get a small lightweight battery (like an AMS). I do not drive my Evo in the winter so I typically trickle charge my batteries.
Will a small battery be reliable to drive everyday? If I don't drive my car for a couple days (like a short holiday) will the battery need to charged or put on the trickle?
I don't have any crazy electronics. I will have an accessport and the OEM Sight and Sound system. Will that be an issue?
I don't really want to get a 50 pound Sears battery. Its heavy. Expensive. It might be a better, longer lasting product though (and a 4 year warrenty)
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'd like to know more about this too..
From what I've read, I think the small batteries will last 1 to 2 weeks at most without being run. And I've also read that these batteries are not to be used with high-powered stereo systems.. what constitutes high-powered, I have no idea.
I'd like to get the STM kit..

But I'm not sure how big of a stereo it will handle.. at most, I'd like to run 100RMS x4 +600RMS sub (and only w/engine running).
For OEM stereo and AP, I think you'd be okay though.

Anyone else have a small battery like this? Had my stock Panasonic for 4 years and I don't know how much longer it'll last. Stock non-SSS stereo and the coldest it gets in winter is about 20 degrees. I drive it 365 days a year.
