Is this a good Ground? Hearing a louder buzz in the radio speakers

This is an evo 8. I posted here cause I need advice from a more active section of the forum, hince the evo x section.

I did a battery relocation to the trunk on my evo 8. I bought the car with a crappy radio from the previous owner and the radio speakers already have a slight buzz/whine to it.
After the battery relocation, I am hearing a significant louder buzz to it.

The question is. Is this a good place for a ground? Is this a good ground?

Yes I did shave off the paint where i bolted the wire. I did not solder. I simply pinched the wires really tightly.

Looks good to me, but how far is it from the battery? You want to keep that distance as short as possible.

Is is a buzz or a whine? Increase with acceleration?

If it's just a buzz your amp's gain may be set too high. Essentially it's amplifying nothing, causing the buzz.

What would it mean if its a whine? I have a similar situation where I have a whine that is relative to the engine rpm

it is a whine. and it increases with rpm. The ground wire is 12inches away from the battery.

The whine will be gone as soon as i turn off the radio. Then it is just pure good engine sound.

Alternator whine. Check this thread, post #42 specifically:

All I have to say is good luck. I've had reoccuring problems since I pulled my stock unit. I've gone over every inch of the system and had multiple shops look at it too.
