i have a 2008 evo x gsr with the fast key entry. i just got it painted and got it back from the shop but i used to be able to unlock my door by simply touching the driver door handle. now that i got it back from the shop i am unable to do this any more. they did happen to kill my battery but they replaced it and i dont know if that had anything to do with the problem, maybe there was a relay that went bad for thtat function, but i didnt notice the unlocking by touch was not wirking. does any one know how to set this up? i heard you can change some of the unlocking functions throught the mmcs but i dont see an option for that.

 

The shop might of painted over the sensor behind the handle, will it unlock with your passenger handle?

 

nope not even the passenger side works. any one know how it work sor have a diagram of the wiring?

 

You dont have your cell phone next to your fob do you?

 

This. When I had my 09 GTS with the fast key, my iPhone was emitting waves that effectively erased the programming on the FOB. I went back to the dealership two days later and it was like $25 to fix. I'd try that.

However, you would also not be able to start the car with the little knob either. Does that work?

 

no, i have my phone with my wallet and my keys seperate on my other pocket. i did hear that would mess up the coding in the fob though

 

yeah the car will start but i cant unlock the door by touch anymore. i have to click the unlock on the fob. i guess ill have to go to the dealer and check it out

 

have you check and see if the sensors got painted?

 

where are the sensors at? behind the door panels?

 

Inside of the handle (where your hand goes). Did they paint both doors? If only one door was painted and now both doors don't unlock - check the battery (again) in the fob (bad bat or incorrectly installed?)...
