iPhone 5 iOS6 will not connect to USB?
I have an evo X with the SSS and since I got an iPhone 5 with iOS 6 my phone will not connect to USB. I've given it 30 mins and it still will not load and play. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a firmware update for the head unit?
Yeah I can and that's what I usually do but sometimes I need to charge my phone. My evo doesn't seem to like if I have it plugged in to the car and paying through bluetooth. It will randomly pause my music.
Yeah it's not the OS I believe its the actual iPhone 5 or new USB cable. I know I can buy a USB charger but that defeats the purpose of having USB built into the car.

When you check the Mitsubishi Fuse website, the iPhone 5 does not even appear on the list to check if the device is compatible yet. If I had to guess, as previously mentioned, this has to do with the new lightning to USB cable.
There is some slight home that Mitsubishi may release an update/new software version for Fuse to allow full compatibility. Based on the past release schedule, this may not happen until June 2013. http://www.mitsubishifuse.com/support.taf?p=7&n=1
I am not sure if a lightning to 30 pin adapter would correct the issue but if an adapter is available it would be worth a shot trying.

It's the cable and the way that the pins are assigned on the cable. The lightning cable has an authentication chip inside of it that assigns what each pin needs to do. As such if your car hasn't been updated to support this then you won't have audio or video out. I have an aftermarket headunit and they just update the firmware to support this and it works just fine now, but didn't before.
The adapter may work, but it only supports analog out. It's worth a shot trying it. You can always return it if it doesn't work.

If this helps, I have a 2013 GSR with the RF package, and I was able to hook up my iPhone 5 with iOS 6 via both BT and USB. Zero issues. I did have to go buy a new Lightning cable from the Apple store, obviously.
