I went to amazon and ordered it. I believe it was about $36.00 shipped. I received the part the other day. I'm still a little short on funds so it will be a few months before I actually get to install it because I still need to buy a new head unit, 4-channel amp, AND pay for installation of all the stuff that will go into my car (2 amps, Satallite Radio, head unit, speakers, and sub). I know this won't help anyone now but I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I have it installed.
Just by looking at the pics from the original poster, compared to the actual OEM part from Japanparts.com you, it looks pretty good. The OEM part is about $400, the Schoshe dash is about $60, and this one is $35. The part I have at my house right now looks and feels good. As long as it fits good, I think I'll be very happy.

Ninja99,

Can you give us some more info on the Dash Kit? I have already received mine but won't be installing for a little while. Would you mind answering the following questions?

1. Are you using the OEM Navigation Unit or an aftermarket head unit? If you are using an aftermarket head unit, what model is it?

2. Pictures you have look good. Were there any gaps around the unit after the install? If so, what did you use to fill the gaps?

Any additional info you can give would really help others out.

Thanks,
Lando

JKC213,

Can you please post pics so others can see the problem you're running into? It can help us to get a better idea of what to expect AND it can help us to give you suggestions on how to fill in the gap. I do have a question for you?

1. What radio model are you using? Are you using an OEM Mitsubishi Nav Unit or an aftermarket unit? If you are using aftermarket what is screen size and model #?

Sure thing. The dash kit is for an aftermarket double din size headunit. I have the Pioneer AVH-X4500bt. This won't work with with the OEM HU.

Slight gap near the top of the deck. I installed the dash kit with the trim ring that came with it. I'll see if i can get some pics.

What did you use to mount the head unit? If I use the stock brackets it sits far too low to fit the dash kit.

If you have the stock non-Navi/RF head unit, you'll need to order the Mitsu navi bracket.

It is part # 8701A168 ..I ordered mine from Russ @ Mitsubishiparts for ~$18.

Other than the Mitsu JDM kit, the American Int'l kit is probably the best one on the market right now. Installed mine last summer, and fitment is around 9/10 with just a slight gap at the back of the top piece. Was near impossible to order back then.. had one of the AI reps hook me up with a local shop down in FL.

I have this same piece and used my RF brackets and fitment is perfect. Truely this is one of the best non-oem options out there

I actually modified my non RF brackets slightly and got it to work. I was originally a little freaked out when it didn't even come close, but I figured it out along the way.

Might be a little better, but the gap in your pic above doesn't looks too bad. My Alpine INE-S920HD w/the navi bracket still shows a very slight gap around the entire unit (the plastic bezel around the unit just barely fits through the AI's opening, but at the right angle you can catch a reflection of the Alpine's metal body).

Don't think the Alpine's trim piece will fit, but I'm thinking about using some narrow rubber weatherstripping to finish it off. Here's a few pics my install..

Anyway.. very happy with the dash kit, and really love the S920 - tho I'm still just a tad torqued off that Alpine never announced their 7" W927HD that just came out, and of course Kenwood finally released a totally kick-*** nav. Ah well
