Connection on OEM Headunit

Does anyone know what this connection circled in red is for?
It was on my 2011 OEM stock SSS Radio. I swapped out for a 2011 Navi but the navi didnt have this connection. It connects to the piece with the hazard lights switch.

It connects the face plate to the hazard switch to provide it power and other voodoo and witchcraft.

However, there was no place for me to put this connection on the oem navi unit.. and also the hazard lights work even though i left that tab unplugged.

That little POS ribbon as stated gives power to the head unit. At least for the non-nav head unit. there is a small slot where it plugs into behind the hazard switch. Real pain to get back in.

Its for the non-navi head units only. You don't need it for your swap.

Ha! I was just about to post this exact question. I even did a search for "hazard" although I only searched titles. Lo and behold the very first thread in this subforum is exactly what I was looking for. Dumb luck?
