Hardwiring Redline radar
Hey guys so I just bought all my necessities for getting a new radar detector. A blendmount, hardwire kit, and of course a escort redline. I only have one question regarding fuse tapping. I dont have a power mirror so thats out of the question. I wanted to possibly tap a fuse in the fuse box. Does anyone know which fuse location would be best to tap into? I saw we have a couple extra fuses that are not used. Would these be the best to tap into? Also what is the correct amp fuse to tap into? A 10 amp, correct? I've also seen people mentioning a 7.5 amp?
Thanks

alright cool man thats exactly what I was thinking. Hey I only have one question though that I can't seem to find the answer to online. The fuse taps have two fuses that you put on. So i talked to escort and they said I should have a 2 amp fuse. So what orientation of fuses should I put on those two locations? Like a original 10 amp and then a 2 amp. I also saw that they are considered in series, so would i need to put something lower like a 5 amp and then 2 amp. Sorry for the noob questions, just don't want to fry my new radar detector. I will of course check voltage to the detector also, they said 11-16 volts. But what two fuses should i put on the fuse tap. thanks
