Battery swap question

Hello everyone,

I had to swap out the old Panasonic battery on my X. I chose to go for the Optima yellow-top as the stealership wanted $580 for the Mitsubishi battery where as the yellow top cost me $280.

Attached is a pic of the battery I was advised to get, can anyone confirm it is the correct one? The shop are unable to install it correctly as the positive terminal is quite far away from the edge on the battery side and the positive cable from the car has an awkward bend in it. Is it fine for them to straighten the car side cable out a bit?

Please excuse the newbness of this thread

I believe the terminals are the other way around on a Group 35.

What size yellow top did you get?

Yes the terminals are the other way round, battery had to be put in 'backwards' to have the terminals on the right sides.

I think it may be group 34. Part number is 8014-254. I think I may go back to the shop and change it for a red top

Group 34 batteries come as group 34 and group 34R with the terminals reversed.
(I've used both for various cars.)

From my research, I read that the EVO X uses a group 35, and the terminals on that are like the stock battery, from what I see on the web.
