Optima Batteries

I know someone out there has an Optima yellow or Red Top battery...I tried to get one, but the guys at Pep Boys told me that they didnt carry the size for the Lancer. I tried one, and the posts were mismatched from the stock battery and the cables wouldnt reach. What size should I get? "Model" #...or what not.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I've got the biggest red top. I need the yellow though b/c my lights dim when my system hits. I think mine is 1000 cca (cold cranking amps) and 1200 amps total. It fits fine but I had to bend the part on the cable where the fuse is to make it work.

There's no battery that will fit without having to stretch the battery cables??? I tried on the last one, and there was no way they were stretching that far.

I noticed that out battery tray could handle a slightly larger battery, as well as the Vivid Racing battery tie. Does the Evo use a different size battery???

how much bigger? like a couple mm wider? Cause that should still fit in the stock tray. If so, I'm interested in getting this battery and then relocating it to the rear right of my trunk.

young, how do you switch the terminals....the one that I tried last time, that was my biggest hang-up, the poistive and negative were switched. And if I turned the battery, the posts were too far away from the cables.

i got 2 drycells in my cars, my mr2 and my lancer. it fit just fine, plus its half the size of the stock lancer battery, which means more room for piping and more cables. i'll post a few pics when i get off work.
