that's what I'm saying....are you sure that the dealer was offering an optima, those are expensive batteries and usually parts from the dealer are twice as expensive. if its true i'm gonna run out and get it from them.

OK, does anyone have an EVO with an optima Yellow or red top. If so, please post pictures of the install. Like everyone elce here, I see no way that the cables will strech. I have a yellow top in my grage waiting to go in the car, but would like to have some ideas on how it has already been done. I have also talked with optima, I was going to buy a red top and tey recommend that any car with a lot of aftermarket electronics use a yellow top deep cycle. They also do not make a reverse post battery, which would have solved this whole problem for all of us. As for streching the cables, I call BS there is no way that that ground cable is going to strech thet far, if so his ground cable was longer than the rest of ours.

By the way from what I saw when I pulled out my stock battery the optima yellw top appears to be smaller in size (though it does weigh more). The mounting hooks are boarder line for holding the optima and may also have to be replaced.

I hope someone has pics, don't want to start this blind.

One picture of a Red Top. The guy fabricated his own tie down but didn't specify whether or not it was necessary or just cosmetic. Mach is selling an Optima on their website but they don't have any additional info regarding fitment.
