I have the fosgate rockford system in my evo, and recently when I turn up the music, my driver side little speaker squeaks like there is a mouse inside and its SO annoying I dont even want to listen to music anymore. This happens especially when the song has a deep bass.

Does this mean my speaker is busted? It kinda sounds like it...

 

Yes. Yes it does.

 

The driver inside the speaker is more than likely burned out, however sometimes the cone of the speaker can have a hole or tear that causes it. Take your door panel off and have a look at the speaker, if theres any damage a simple fix that works well actually is a dab of RTV sealant on the area.

 

More than likely
