HELP. Pop and Burning Smell from Amp

Forum Members,

I have done a few searches and it appears I "may" have blown a capacitor. Anyway, I have two amps (1 4-channel and 1 mono amp) in my car. They are both about 8 years old. I was driving around the other day (not blasting my music) and all of a sudden, I heard a "pop", followed by a burning smell and now no sound comes from ANY of my speakers. When I opened the trunk, I saw that the LED light on my mono amp was off but my 4-channel amp LED was still on. I am a noob when it comes to anything sound related. Even if my mono amp blew, shouldn't I be still be getting sound from my speakers in the car since they are connected to the 4 channel amp? I am planning on buying a new mono amp and hooking that amp back in the way the old amp was wired and HOPE that works. If not, I will have to take it to a shop. Only problem is that this coronavirus thing has many places shutdown. ANY help you can provide would greatly be appreciated.

Thank You,

Lando

Forum Members,

Not like anyone bothered to help but I was able to find the issue. Sad when a YouTube video is more helpful than a forum.

Is it though? This is an evo forum not an aftermarket stereo forum. Sorry you didn't get help, but your not entitled to it. I installed aftermarket stereos for many years so if you still have any problems or questions post and I'll try and offer advice / help.
