^Of course works has a X, have you not checked their website recently? There was even a thread called "works' been busy" or something like that, with a link to their website showing all the new parts they have, as wel as pics of their X.

Looking good. I was expecting a little more power since I did 270 on that dyno with VIII (cams, exhaust, HFC and massive boost leak) but overall not bad.

^That's less power with a lot more mods, I don't understand why you would find that disappointing. All he has is a catback and a drop in air filter. And I doubt that the boost leak you are speaking of was that substantial otherwise they wouldn't (or shouldn't ) have tuned your car without first fixing it.

I think it would go a little higher, but I am not a fan of wicking up the boost any more. The test pipe and down pipe deliver today, and I think we are doing an Evo dyno day a week from this Saturday, so we'll remap it. Originally Posted by hotrod2448

EcuTeK tuning and power pull dyno day with lunch for X owners, follow this link: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...39#post5612939

My VIII had a smaller hotside, no mivec and as I said a boost leak that tapering to @16psi by redline after hitting 21 at peak. Cars without the boost leak and with TP's were doing @290 that day.Originally Posted by STi2EvoX

So really it had cams which I'm going to say should be offset by Mivec and an HFC that was worth about 5hp over stock but, the X has a higher compression ratio, better flowing head and a bigger hotside so, I expected a little more.

I just unthreadjacked my thread because the Works and BC stuff was getting way off topic. I only soft deleted it, you two, so if you would like me to move it into its own thread so you guys can chat about it, PM me and let me know. I'd be happy to.

Seth,
When your 335 made these numbers what octane were you running? I'm not trying to stir anything up. I'm trying to get a feel for how the X's power would compare to what I have currently.
I just feel like V2 in my car isn't as stout as your numbers would make it out to be. Since we have similar mods on the cars.

That graph was a shootout mode for all the little confused BMW guys. In that post, it says I made 310whp and 380wtq in regular mode, like what I ran here. That said, even though the Evo is much more rewarding to rev, my 335i would donkey punch my X from a roll. FWIW too, my 335i was the strongest one we've had at Dyno4mance so far. A lot of the others are making like 20whp less and 50Tq less.
What you have currently would bury what I have currently.
I would love to see 290-300 when the rest of the exhaust is on the car and it is remapped, but its still not going to have that Hercules area under the curve that the big 3 liter N54 has.I got rid of that car for financial reasons, not due to lack of love. I miss it every day.

I knew about the shoot out mode. I was asking about the standard numbers. I ran mine on a DD up here and it only did 260hp. It made 320ft/lbs down low but fell on it's face up top.Originally Posted by Noize

I have a feeling there were a few things working against it when it did those numbers though. Dyno operators having ramp settings screwed up, they had the AFR sniffer put in backwards and blocking most of one exhaust pipe and procede only at 90%.

Mine were like 92% in some areas, but as low as 85% up top. The throttle plate closes on those DI cars, and they fall on their face. Mine threw a limp at close to redline until the day I got rid of it. Shiv sent the new owner a map, and it has since been cured.

Dyno4mance remapped the car with the UR dp and test pipe with mini muffler. It is up to 290whp and 280wtq.
The EcuTeK maps now include the Mitsubishi reflash specs included, so that's nice as well.
