Fluttering sound after tune.

.. its been a week after i got my tune. everything went fine but today i notice a lot fluttering sound at low rpms. seems like when boost is building up. not doing it when im driving normally. actually ive been noticing it for while but didnt think nothing of it cause it happens at low rpm. for example when at on 5th gear and i floor it at 3-4k, it flutterings. normal?

I had this happen on my STi after getting it reflashed and the boost was raised. I am honestly not sure what causes it, but it's only when at low rpm, full throttle scenarios. I do know one thing, when I put the perrin ebcs on my car that fluttering was gone. I also noticed that the bouncing of the needle on my boost guage stopped after this as well. If you have a boost gauge then you'll notice that the boost needle bounces around when that fluttering noise is happening and then when the noise stops, so does the fluttering needle. When my perrin ebcs was installed that went away, so does that mean that it's the stock solenoids? I don't know but now I am curious as to what the issue is.

The turbo is spooling up so fast, its forcing out more air then the motor can take in at lower rpm's, so the air gets backed up and the fluttering you hear is, in essence, air bouncing off the compressor wheel

that happens exactly on my Evo 8 once I installed the Green turbo. Never figured out what that was. I figured it was compressor surge too. Is there anyway to accommodate for the surge in low rpm's? This never happened with my 8 turbo. I've read some people on here have the same thing, but never heard of a definite solution.

could be the vacume line to the bov, or you might need to get a better bov, if the bov doesnt open on time then you will get surge.....

let me rephrase.
This happens to me on a stock tune if my boost hits >24psi at ~3-3.5k rpm in 5th gear. It doesn't happen in 4th gear ever. It doesn't happen at 4k rpm.

I don't think it's a matter of overboosting, since your peak boost isn't too high. i think it's a matter of too much boost at too low of an rpm, as it only seems to happen in max gear at low rpm. an ebc unit would be nice to help correct for this.

I don't think it's necessarily a problem, i'm no expert though, I could be wrong about how this works. If so someone please correct me.

thats what im thinking too. too much boost at low rpm. which is more of a driver issue. can some it me know..is it a major problem?
