bump for any more suggestions? im still having this problem. im might just go ahead and grab the ebc from perrin. now how would it work with the re-flash? since the reflash controls boost? the dude at Works said i dont need mbc anymore...but i would be installing an ebc.

Everyone is telling you that it is OK...It is not a problem. The Works flash comes with a boost control hose that has a more restrictive than stock pill in the boost line. DO NOT add an EBC or MBC to the Works flash. There is absolutely no need for it. You already have ECU boost control with the Works flash.

A better diverter valve is probably needed.

The stock boost control system is an EBC. You must mean a stand-alone EBC. How is a stand-alone EBC going to solve the flutter? Run less boost?

yes a standalone ebc. i had nothign but problems using the ecu to control boost. i would say maybe the diverter valve like u stated before but the op stated it was fine for about a week then it all started happening. its def a tuning problem in the ecu.

The built-in EBC in the ECU is fine. Its not going to affect any tendency for the turbo to surge if its tuned properly.

The stock DV on my IX gets a bit sticky in the winter months causing my engine to flutter in the morning. Granted this isn't winter time, but DVs can have problems. I'd say a first good step would be to pull the stock DV, check it, and clean it. I'd also suggest checking the vacuum line going to the DV.

ECU boost control is not for everyone. It is not easy to set-up properly. But once you get it right, it is a thing of beauty.

As Sti2ExoX said, he upgraded the solenoid and did not add a controller. I think you have the two confused.

Perrin sells the EBCS - Electronic Boost Control Solenoid, not the EBC - Electronic Boost Controller.

Sounds like wastegate flutter to me. I don't know why everyone is talking about compressor surge. Compressor surge happens when you lift off the throttle and you are under boost and do not have a BPV/BOV to vent the pressurized air.
