wideband A/F Ratio

I added a ams intercooler, ur downpipe and testpipe. I didnt have my wideband hooked up till I put the test pipe on so I dont know what it read before but im getting 12.5 reading now at wide open throttle. My question is will the intercooler and test pipe lean my car out that far? I have a ams mail in flash so im sure it good before I added the pieces. Is my gauge wrong?

mmm...IC would def lean you out. Filter will a little too...UICP will add a little more....12.5 at WOT is still pretty rich...I'm surprised the mail in flash didnt compensate for that. Below 11 at WOT is were the leaning starts....(iirc). See if Guru is around....for some reason I think he knows this stuff well....or one of the tuners on here should be able to help-sorry!

its a aem gauge, list of my mods is in my signature. The flash was done for all the mods except the intercooler, test pipe and down pipe. I didnt know if adding those 3 things would make me that lean

Seriously? 12.5:1 is NA lean. 12:1 at wot on pump gas in a turbo car is too lean in most cases. While the X's can happily run leaner than an 8 or 9 12.5:1 is cause for concern. Lower number = richer, higher number=leaner.

The flash is what leaned you out to that 12.5:1 not the mods, the mods might have brought it up to mid 10:1 range but not that high. I'd get your flash checked out

little out of topic.. and a noob question,
what was the purpose for mitsubishi to tuned the evos so rich? i m pretty sure mitsubishi hired decent engineers to figure things out.. for my understanding.. if it runs at more cloased to ideal a/f ratio it would help gain more power and safety right?
