WORKS P2 Mail-in Flash *Review*
All,
I have been working with Jamie at WORKS (SN: Jamie @ WORKS )who has since moved back in the neighborhood, Columbus, Ohio but is still employed by WORKS. He has been my contact for the purchases I have made thus far as well as a helping had to install the parts. Jamie is a great guy to do business with and to work on cars with!
It was intended that Jamie would provide me with the flash and then he would have the proper equipment to provide me with a more custom tune. However due to a tired laptop and wanting to have a little more seat-time in the WORKS Evo X we decided to just send them my ECU for a mail-in flash and a month or two down the road he would be all set to throw the car on the dyno and provide a little more customization to the mail-in flash.
Shipping: We sent the ECU overnight on a Monday evening at 6:00pm EST. Unfortunately FED-Ex did not drop off the ECU to WORKS until Tuesday at 4:00pm PST. They quickly did their job and arrived at FED-Ex at 5:45pm PST to be told they missed the EST drop off time for overnight by 15 minutes. I received my ECU on Thursday at 1:00pm. I don’t think this needs to be mentioned but I will mention it anyway, the one day lag in receiving my ECU was not WORKS fault at all, they did everything they could to get me my ECU.
Impressions: Unfortunately I do not have any sort of base-line dyno numbers or dyno numbers with the flash . I will once Jamie is all squared away to provide some tweaking to my ECU in about a month or so. I will say that the car pulls much harder all the way to redline and I am thrilled about the power it has provided thus far. I would recommend this product!
¼ Times: The car went down the track on Sunday at the DSM Shootout twice. The best time was the second one which is as follows:
R/T - .417
60’- 1.863
330 - 5.227
1/8 - 8.069
MPH - 87.12
1000- 10.521
¼ - 12.574
MPH - 110.41
Current Mods:
1) WORKS P2 Flash @ 24PSI
2) Custom Cat-back
3) Test pipe (cat-delete pipe)
4) Slowmotion Intake
5) Upper intercooler pipe
6) WORKS Ride springs
Overall I am very happy with the flash and think we should be able to get another 10 to 20 WHP by doing a little tweaking and throwing in another pound of boost or two.
Please feel free to ask me any questions you guys have as I have tried to provide all the information I could but I realize I may have accidentally left some information out.
Thanks
~Ryan
