ECUTEK CAR w/ NO MODS goes 107+mph Trap Speed!!!

I have to bring this up in this forum as it is only posted in the Drag Racing Section.. I want to say i find it amazing that an Ivey Tuned Ecutek Chipped X with no other mods can run 107.60 mph.. Id have to say this car must be tuned great and HAS to be a great competitor against other tuning options.. I mean the MPH speaks for itself as far as HP gains.. I thought this section of the board would be much better suited for discussion than the drag race forum but here is a link to the Original Thread anyway.. Discuss!!!

60' 1.837
330 5.265
1/8 8.139@85.95
1000 10.630
1/4 12.728@107.60

Yeah Mike, I had seen that thread and the results are pretty damn impressive for a heavy, fully loaded SSS EVO.

I would say that is about the most you could expect from just an EcuTek Tune and Boost increase and it compares very close to the Z-Chip from TTP. Considering that is about a 6-7 mph gain in trap speeds that's really nice for a full weight car! I guess for the stock Turbo, the factory exhaust and intake path is well matched given that cars with upgraded parts are only managing 3-4 mph higher trap speeds.

I suspect that once I swap out the flow limited stock turbo the effect of the upgraded parts will make much more of a difference. I know I'm spinning my tires in 1st gear now but it's kinda funny how my 1/8 mile trap speeds of 84 mph are lower than that car! I'll chalk that up as driver (me) error.

Im not 100% sure but i think it was just a Chip of some sort and a boost controller.. Not a tune.. I dont know much about it though to be honest.. I just know the car trapped 106mph with the z-chip..

I would be amazed at anyone getting 11's on the completely Stock Evo X turbo. Possibly with some portwork and tubular headers/ported manifolds it would be doable, but right now the biggest limit is that boost will taper below 24 PSI past 6000 RPM and drops to 18 PSI at 7500. Since pulling the turbo is fairly involved I plan on just upgrading it to a unit that will hold 26 psi to redline and do it once right.

I think the Z chip/MBC will be great for getting maximum gains from an otherwise nearly stock Evo X though.

XB ran stock turbo and untuned...but unmodified? Not by a long shot. FMIC, UICP, LICP, TBE, exhaust manifold, and tires have all been changed. The car has also been lightened (crash beams, no rear wing, etc...). 11s has been figured...well at least 1 route to achieve it has been.

As for TTP's method of achieving the 12.7@107, it was done full weight, full tank of gas, MBC, and the Z-Chip.

I am friends with both these vendors and I am not condoning any attack of one agaisnt another!! It's all Drama!

We use Ecutek now and cannot say ya or nay on what TTP is doing we have never used it. The customers will be the judge of how it performs.

I agree 100% sean.. Not looking for any attack.. I am just wanting to bring to light the great accomplishment with an Ecutek tuned car is all.. The community deserves to know what their options are for their Evo X when looking at trap speeds and their goals.. Wouldnt you agree that the Ecutek tune is showing great and comparable results based off this customers time slip??
