Z-chip installed - Finally threw ASC Light

Hey guys,

I have installed the Z-chip. My car is stock except for MBC and boost gauge.
Boost spikes to 24 settles at ~21-22 then dies to ~18 at 7600rpm.

I have driven the car 74 miles today with no problems at all. I repeat no ASC light, or any other warning of any kind.

Performance gain:

Feels great, I can tell the car picked up at least 75hp...I don't have easy access to a dyno to verify, but the butt-o-meter says ~75hp gain. I am also a little shy on boost compared to what most people.

Pulls alot stronger to reline, It kinda feels like a 2-stroke the way the boost picks up so fast around 2500rpm.

Very happy with my purchase, Thanks TTP!

Great News!

I have been waiting to purchase a tuning solution until all of the "bugs" have been worked out. I have been leaning the Ecutek way but will seriously consider the ZChip if I read more reviews like this. Keep us posted on how things turn out.

Is the Zchip a piggyback? Easily removable and not detectable by stealerships?

Well guys,

I finally got the service ASC light. Occurred tonight at 49-50º temps, runnig hard from 1-2-3 immediately after the 2-3 shift, that is the only way I have been able to produce it. All shifts done around 7200-7600 rpm.

If I shift at 7k I don't think I'll get it...I will play some more. Also the lower temps have increased boost slightly to 25psi spikes.

It may be that you have actually bumped the limiter in a gear as the additional power runs through the gears much faster now.

Its been proven that popping the limiter even from neutral without the car moving, will set the ASC light off. One guy even got his car replaced by mitsu over it and then his replacement car did it too.

Nope, never hit the limiter, I know what that feels/sounds like as I have done just that when the car was stock.

This had NO LOSS in power just DING, ASC service light now on. I will drive the car easy until llalen3 reports cause of tranny/tcase failure.
