Mine doesn't hesitate at all, it just takes off.

Are you sure you're pressing the brake pedal to the floor? Same goes for the accelerator.

Question

KPerez: Did you mean GTR in the title? I was hoping to read MR vs. GSR when launching.
Does the GSR have launch control?

Yea .. mine has a pause too .. Just tested my 1st launch today ..
I got a 4.7s datalogged .. intake and an ETS FMIC kit only .. stock exhaust ..

Only complaint now is I have an irritating ring in the engine bay .. much like a twinclutch manual ..

Wonder if you guys who've launched their cars have this noise as well ..

Yes, talking about the launch control of the R35 GTR by Nissan and X launch control on the MR; comments confined to automatics.

Later, Ken

I think I hear that whining ringing noise to. It's almost like a vibration. Normal?

The only thing that bothers me about the tranny is that it's clunky at low speeds normal driving. Also, it seems when I first start driving the car after warmup, the 1st to 2nd gear shift is rough as hell. Anyone else notice that?

Here's the procedure I used to launch. I successfully completed 2 launches with no hesitation (that I can recall) and no warnings or issues:

- Transmission in Super Sport mode (press up once, then press and hold up)
- ASC All Off (press and hold for 3 seconds until beeping occurs)
- Shifter in D (or manual mode if you prefer)
- Stand on the brake pedal (no pedal creep at all)
- Stand on the accelerator
- Revs should rise to 5-5500 RPMs and stop
- Let go of brake
- Take off

bvliz and others are you lifting off the gas pedal when you shift? If so, are you just easing up on the gas or lifting off the pedal completely? Should we just be keeping our foot on the throttle the whole time?

I've been trying a few different methods when shifting to see if I can get smoother shifts at lower speeds half throttle. The transmission shifts blisteringly fast and very smooth at high speeds/rpms, especially once it's warmed up.

Wow, sometimes I wish most of you bought STI's so the level of stupidity was not so high in this forum.
coming from the guy that doesn't even drive an evo.... get off your high horse. who cares what people do to their own vehicles. the only reason you have "never" done this is because your **** doesn't have launch control.

bvliz .. I tested the launches and discover this .. (split between 2 cars !! I'm not crazy)

ASC OFF or ALL OFF works for launch ..

If you progressively input the throttle (ie slowly) .. launch control aborts by itself (ie SLOWDOWN)

If you release the throttle while the rpm is still going up to 5000rpms (I released at 4600rpms ~) the car launches without pause

If you hold and wait until 5000-5500rpms .. then release the brakes .. there's about a 0.5s pause as the rpm drops to 4200rpms ~ then it launches ..

I don't know the 1/4mile .. but
with launch you get 4.7s 0-60
without launch, you get 5.4s 0-60

datalogged .. not handtimed ..
