JDM MIVEC Map results?

I see a lot of dyno tuning being done and im sure the tuners are tuning the MIVEC settings for better spool up and power, but what I want to know is if the tuners have done a stock USDM Mivec map tune vs a JDM mivec map tune with the mivec being the only change.

Can any tuners with dyno results chime in?

At this moment I already have tuned USDM, JDM and Euro spec EVO X.

Working with the mivec on all this cars I have conclude that the 3 versions use different cams profile.

The most different cam mivec map I already have to tune is the Euro spec EVo X RS and by the way the most power I have seen.

I have used the JDM spec mivec on USDM car and I dont see any gain in power.
But for other parts I already figure an mivec map that really make consistently more power specially on the midrange from 4000rpm to 6500rpm.

This just take time and a lot of testing.

We have seen about 10whp gains on top from JDM mapping. Less whp drop off at higher rpms. They made the engine sound like a CVT as it sounds to "hang" for a few seconds before the engine changes tone again.

Which version RS do you have ?? I have all the ROM images ..

RS and JDM maps are the same
EDM is slightly different from JDM
USDM is totally off ..

Erm .. not testing you I'm a ROM collector so if its different I like to dissect it

I dont know what RS version do you have but at least the Euro RS 00 and 01 version are very very different to to all the others mivec setups maps.

You mean they have different MIVEC Maps correct? Or do you mean each version (USDM, EDM, JDM) has a physically different cam profile?

Are you talking about an Evo X or Evo 9? Sounds like you are talking about a IX.

Hello Scott

I am talking about the EVO X.
Trust me the maps are very different.

If I try to use the JDM on the Euro RS the car really dont like , lost alot of top end and torque.

Also I try to do the same but using the RS Euro spec on the JDM car and the car lost alot of power also.

That the reason I think that at least the version that have tuned use different cams.

So, is it safe and-or recommended to use the JDM map on an USDM Evo X?

Yes its safe ..

Gadiel - I have 2 different versions too.. named differently depending on what you're using as a flash software..

What you're saying goes against what I understand about mitsubishi
I have never seen them release a car that is better tuned than their own domestic market .. a matter of pride ..
BUT there's always a 1st time I guess ..
