Questions about Cold Air intakes
i am still going back and forth between the sealed box aem and the injen. I prefer the look of the injen but if the aem trumps it in quality of performance then i would take it with no question. How does your car sound with the aem? Where i live they don't have emissions testing. People were passing it with lawnmowers and it made them realized their tests were worthless.
Is there a reason everyone is making short ram intakes for the X's I've never seen a true CAI where it pipes to the bottom of the bumper near the fog lights. That's where all the fresh air is coming in.

There is a picture of the AEM in my GSR.

I would either just get a drop in or save your money and get your car tuned. A tune deems the intake useless and your car will perform waaaaaaaaay better overall vs just giving you a few peak HP in addition to the bogging factory tune.

A tune doesn't deem an aftermarket intake useless.
i wouldn't go with a CAI...my previous car hydrolocked before due to it. i swore to never get a CAI ever again.
that said, i'm running the ARC intake box right now. it probably works better than AEM's, but probably yield close, if not the same, gains.
