Is there a reason everyone is making short ram intakes for the X's I've never seen a true CAI where it pipes to the bottom of the bumper near the fog lights. That's where all the fresh air is coming in.

I have the AEM in my GSR and love it. I am glad I didn't go with anything else. The sound is night and day different. You can clearly hear the BOV with just the driver window cracked about an inch. That is the stock BOV too. At around 4k rpm, you can hear a hugh in rush of air going into the turbo thru the intake. I would recommend the AEM. The performance gains are going to be about the same across the board with every intake offered. I just like the stock look that the AEM gives and sounds really good.

There is a picture of the AEM in my GSR.

I would either just get a drop in or save your money and get your car tuned. A tune deems the intake useless and your car will perform waaaaaaaaay better overall vs just giving you a few peak HP in addition to the bogging factory tune.

A tune doesn't deem an aftermarket intake useless.

i wouldn't go with a CAI...my previous car hydrolocked before due to it. i swore to never get a CAI ever again.

that said, i'm running the ARC intake box right now. it probably works better than AEM's, but probably yield close, if not the same, gains.
