P0140 Question

Ok so since I got tuned about a month and a half ago I have been popping P0140(no activity o2 sensor) every couple of days. I have searched the forums, but can't find much of anything about how to fix it. What I have been doing is just clearing the code with my OBD II reader, but I would really like to fix the problem. I do have a Ultimate Racing mini-muffler testpipe(they claim no CEL's). Could this of been caused by the tune or is it the testpipe or is the O2 sensor just bad? Is there a way for me to find this out before I contact UR about the pipe? Any help would be great....

Since thats the code, its probably your testpipe(unless you got a bad o2 senor which is unlikely). Might claim to not throw any cel's, but it did. Look up the thread on the spark plug fouler trick, worked great for me twice, only way I know of getting rid of it besides turning them off via tuning.

From the service manual:
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this code to be set are
•Heated oxygen sensor (rear) deteriorated.
•Connector damage.
•ECM failed.

However in the troubleshooting tips, it tells you to go to the P0137 code for further troubleshooting. I get the P0137 with a high flow cat when I push the car before it has warmed up (like on the track mostly).

I think that you either have broken the rear o2 sensor or you need to do an antifouler to try and move the rear o2 sensor out of the airstream in the exhaust (I have 2 antifoulers and I *still* get this code).

I can't wait until the AP or ECUFlash can turn the stupid rear o2 sensor crap off.

Defouler will only cause a P0139 (Rear O2 Slow to Respond) to crop up in most circumstances.

Thanks,

Call up Cobb of Plano and have them turn off the P0420 code in your custom map. I believe they custom tuned your car, correct?

All of our Stage II maps will have the P0420 turned off here very soon.

Thanks,
