Zt-2 Wideband MAP sensor install

Need some quick help from you guys.

I installed the MAP sensor under the hood, by putting a T-connector in the boost line.

I decided to not put the T in the original boost line, as I did for the boost gauge.
Instead I spliced the T in the line for the boost gauge. Just did not want to damage the main line any more.

Now I have not connected the wires to the zt-2, but have the wire harness plugged into the MAP sensor. My problem is that the boost gauge is now reading different than before. It doesn't show boost as early and doesn't read as high as before.
The car seems to be running the same, so I think no boost leak.

Do both devices need their own line from the main boost line? Or will it change once the MAP sensor has power?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Look inside the T connector and see if there is a pill (usually a broze ring). If there is, that is the problem. Make sure the pill goes on the side to the ZT-2 and not the boost gauge.

no it is just a plastic T connector hollow on the inside.

might have a slight leak, is everything snug? are there any tears in the hoses? does your vacuum read normal?

Everything looks fine. I redid everything. Vacum is at -25 psi used to be -20 psi. stays in below zero much longer.

Unplug the vacuum hose going to the ZT-2 and plug it with a bolt or screw. Drive around and check your boost again to see if it's back to normal. If it is, the problem may be a bad ZT-2 sensor with an internal leak.

If MAP sensor has a "leak" it will not work at all. By definition absolute pressure sensors need to hold vacuum. BTW we test all sensors and never had one go bad on field.
Only place you could have a leak near the MAP sensor is the hose barb.
